Saif Ali Khan Reveals Details of Life-Threatening Attack

On January 15, 2024, Mumbai was shaken by a violent attack on Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan at his residence. The actor sustained multiple stab wounds to his neck and back, although none proved fatal. In a recent appearance on the talk show Two Much, hosted by Twinkle Khanna and Kajol, Saif recounted the harrowing details of that night, providing a chilling glimpse into an incident that could have had dire consequences.

In his account, Saif explained that his wife, Kareena Kapoor, had been out, leaving him at home with their children, Taimur and Jeh. After watching a movie together, the family went to bed around 02:00. It was then that their maid alerted Saif, saying, “There is someone in Jeh’s room. He has a knife and is demanding money.”

Saif hurried into the darkness of Jeh’s room, only to confront a man standing over his son’s bed, brandishing a knife. Disturbed by the situation, he said, “He was waving it around so much that it cut Jeh and his nanny.” Believing he could overpower the intruder, Saif jumped into action. “He had two knives and started slashing all over me,” Saif recalled. Despite attempting to defend himself, he felt a sharp pain as the attacker stabbed him in the spine.

The domestic help, Gita, played a crucial role in the confrontation, bravely intervening to pull the assailant away from Saif. They managed to lock the intruder in a separate room, but Saif was already losing strength from his injuries. He later grabbed a decorative sword from the dining room, despite his deteriorating condition.

Upon learning about the attack, Kareena rushed back home and insisted that Saif seek immediate medical attention. As he prepared to leave, Taimur asked, “Are you going to die?” Saif reassured him, saying, “I don’t think so, but my back hurts.” Unfortunately, during the chaos, the attacker managed to escape before police arrived.

At the hospital, Saif encountered a staff that was unprepared for the emergency. “I asked for a stretcher. When they hesitated, I said, ‘I am Saif Ali Khan and this is a medical emergency!’” he recounted with a faint smile. Despite receiving several cuts, Saif was able to walk out of the hospital later, surprising those who had doubted the severity of his injuries. “It was painful but manageable. I didn’t want to cause more worry,” he stated.

Twinkle Khanna noted that his mother, Sharmila Tagore, had advised him to leave the hospital in a wheelchair due to the seriousness of his injuries. Saif, however, chose to walk, stating, “I didn’t want to make it a spectacle.”
