Rugby Star Harry Inch Signs Two-Year Deal with Warriors

A promising future awaits young rugby player Harry Inch, who has officially signed a two-year contract with the Warriors. The 19-year-old, hailing from Nelson, has made a name for himself in rugby union, emerging as one of New Zealand’s most talented prospects.
Inch’s impressive junior career includes a standout performance with the Nelson College First XV during the 2024 season. The team reached the final of the national secondary schools’ Top Four, ultimately finishing as runners-up to Hamilton Boys’ High School. His skills earned him a spot on the New Zealand Schools team, leading to his involvement in both the Tasman Mako and Crusaders development programmes.
Warriors’ Excitement Over New Signing
The Warriors’ general manager for recruitment and development, Andrew McFadden, expressed enthusiasm about Inch’s potential. “He’s a terrific player and a great young person with all the attributes needed to go a long way in rugby league. As well as his set of skills, he has a real toughness about him,” McFadden stated. Inch is easily recognized by his distinctive curly-haired mullet, which may rival that of Warriors’ current standout, Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, in terms of style.
Earlier this year, Inch participated in a Super Rugby trial match for the Crusaders against the Blues, where he had the opportunity to line up alongside Wallabies first five-eighth James O’Connor. His performance in that match showcased his readiness for higher levels of competition, further solidifying his reputation.
A Bright Future Ahead
Crusaders assistant coach James Marshall praised Inch’s tenacity, noting, “He’s just not afraid of anything. He’s a farmer, [with] farmer strength. He beats all the boys in the wrestles in the gym, and he’s just a kid out of school.” This toughness and dedication to the sport are qualities that the Warriors are eager to harness as they prepare for the upcoming season.
Inch will join the Warriors’ Jersey Flegg Cup squad when pre-season training commences next month. His transition from rugby union to league will be closely watched by fans and analysts alike, as many anticipate how his skills will translate to the new format.
As he embarks on this exciting chapter, supporters are eager to see how this young talent will contribute to the Warriors and make his mark in rugby league.
