Kiwi Star Aesha Scott Reveals Mediterranean Gems from Below Deck

Aesha Scott, a beloved star of the reality show *Below Deck Mediterranean*, recently shared her experiences filming in the stunning Mediterranean for the show’s tenth season. The season, which wrapped up in late October 2023, took Scott across various iconic locations, each offering unique highlights and unforgettable moments.
Filming for *Below Deck* typically spans six weeks, though Scott noted that it often extends to around two months when considering travel and preparation. Her packing strategy, however, is a source of personal reflection. “I’m usually such a light packer,” she admitted, “but when I board the plane to go to *Below Deck*, I end up overpacking.” For the series, Scott prepares a wardrobe of around twelve outfits, a significant increase from her usual travel load. In addition to fashion, she also carries multiple books, despite the inconvenience. “I’m willing to pay the price for that,” she remarked.
Memorable Experiences in Barcelona
One of the most exhilarating moments for Scott occurred in Barcelona, where the filming coincided with the prestigious America’s Cup. “We were in the same marina as the teams,” she recalled, describing how she watched the Swiss team prepare for their trials. “I was losing my mind! No one else really seemed to understand how cool it was.”
When asked about her favorite port in the Mediterranean, Scott expressed a deep affection for Antibes, France. “That’s where my yachting journey started,” she explained, referring to the picturesque town with its charming cobblestone streets and vibrant café culture. She also highlighted Capri, Italy, as a thrilling destination, noting the speed of the ferries as an experience in itself.
Scott enthusiastically recommended a visit to Eze, a small village near Monaco. She described the breathtaking views from this elevated location, which can be reached by a scenic 35-40 minute walk. “It’s an absolute must-see,” she said. On Capri, she emphasized the incredible food and wine, stating that the region is known for its beautiful archways and caves, making it a paradise for both culinary and scenic experiences.
Culinary Adventures and Travel Aspirations
Scott shared her love for the Mediterranean cuisine, particularly the tapas style of dining in Barcelona. “I enjoy snacking rather than having formal meals,” she explained, appreciating the variety of small plates, including paella and various toppings served on French-style bread. She remarked on the quality of the region’s produce, noting its freshness and deliciousness. However, she also cautioned about the risk of foodborne illnesses, recounting her own experiences with food poisoning during her visits.
Looking ahead, Scott revealed her travel aspirations, naming Japan, Ireland, and a return to Chile as her top three destinations. “I want to go back to Chile,” she stated, recalling her teenage visit fondly.
Reflecting on her relationships with cast members, Scott expressed a special bond with Captain Sandy, highlighting the humor and fun they share. “We have such a beautiful relationship,” she remarked, emphasizing how their dynamic often gets edited out of the show.
As *Below Deck Mediterranean* Season 10 continues to air, new episodes stream on Tuesdays, first on Hayu, followed by Bravo in the USA. Aesha Scott’s adventures remind fans of the excitement and beauty the Mediterranean has to offer, both on-screen and off.
