Santiago Lambre Triumphs in Thrilling Fourth Round of Hathab Tour

The fourth round of the Longines Hathab – Qatar Equestrian Tour concluded on October 19, 2023, at the Qatar Equestrian Federation’s outdoor arena in Doha. This event featured exhilarating performances across the Diamond, Silver, and Future Riders classes, showcasing the talents of both established and emerging equestrians.

Santiago Lambre Claims Victory in Diamond Class

In a standout performance, Brazil’s Santiago Lambre won the Diamond class, completing the course in a remarkable 35.71 seconds aboard his horse Db Gi Citsun. His speed and precision allowed him to outpace a competitive lineup of riders. Following closely was Mohammed Saeed Haidan, who secured second place with a time of 40.61 seconds riding Quick Nick. Khaled Mohammed Al Emadi finished third, clocking in at 42.4 seconds on Thor Ter Wilgen Z.

The event highlighted the growing stature of equestrian sports in Qatar, with a strong local contingent demonstrating skill and competitive spirit.

Intense Competition in Silver and Future Riders Classes

The Silver Round also featured fierce competition, with Hussain Saeed Haidan emerging victorious. He completed a clean round in 53.56 seconds on Fayahibi. Khaled Al Hadi finished in second place with a time of 56.33 seconds aboard Cartelon, while Rondoux Jean Francois claimed third, just a fraction behind at 56.34 seconds on Lucky Wally.

The Future Riders Round, held at a height of 90cm, showcased the potential of young equestrians. Sultan Jassim Al Suwaidi took first place with an impressive time of 16.26 seconds riding Violet Van Het Koetshuis. He was closely followed by Khalifa bin Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, who recorded 16.32 seconds on Zion II Vdk, and Al Qaqaa bin Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, completing his round in 18.03 seconds on Bon Suela.

Tournament Director Abdullah Al Marri commended the high level of competition throughout the first four rounds of the Longines Hathab Championship. He noted the technical quality and consistency in both show jumping and dressage, stating that the riders’ strong preparation is evident as they gear up for international competitions. Al Marri emphasized that the progress seen this season signals a positive trajectory for Qatari equestrian sports, with local riders increasingly prepared to represent the country on regional and global stages.
