Qatar to Showcase Young Football Talent at AGCFF U-23 Gulf Cup 2025
Qatar will host the AGCFF U-23 Gulf Cup from December 4 to December 16, 2025, bringing together young football talents from around the region. This tournament marks the first time the event is held under the auspices of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF) and is expected to provide a significant platform for emerging athletes.
According to Jassim Sultan Al Rumaihi, AGCFF Secretary General, “The U-23 Gulf Cup is reflective of our strong commitment to nurturing young, emerging football talents in the region, and fostering competitiveness in this age group.” He emphasized the importance of this stage for young players transitioning to senior teams and encouraged fans to support these future stars.
Event Structure and Schedule
The tournament will feature eight teams divided into two groups. Host nation Qatar will lead Group A, competing against Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kuwait. Group B will be headed by Iraq, which will also face the UAE, Oman, and Yemen.
The group stage will consist of 14 matches, taking place across two state-of-the-art pitches at Aspire Zone. This venue recently hosted a historic edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup. Importantly, the group stage will be a non-ticketed event, allowing fans from the region to attend and enjoy the matches.
The tournament kicks off on December 4 at 14:45 local time with a match between Iraq and Yemen. Hosts Qatar will play their opening match on December 5, facing Kuwait at the same time.
Final and Accessibility
The tournament’s final will be held on December 16 at the renowned Stadium 974, recognized as the first fully demountable covered football stadium in FIFA World Cup history. Tickets for the final match will be available shortly.
Both tournament venues are designed to be accessible, ensuring an inclusive experience for disabled fans. The AGCFF U-23 Gulf Cup is part of an exciting football season in Qatar, coinciding with the FIFA Arab Cup from December 1 to December 18 and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup on December 10, 13, and 17.
This series of events highlights Qatar’s capabilities in hosting world-class sporting competitions and nurturing the next generation of football stars.
