Qatar Welcomes Future Football Stars at AGCFF U-23 Gulf Cup 2025
Doha, Qatar: Qatar is set to host the AGCFF U-23 Gulf Cup from December 4 to 16, 2025, an important tournament aimed at showcasing young football talents from across the region. This event marks the first time the competition will be held under the auspices of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF).
According to Jassim Sultan Al Rumaihi, Secretary General of AGCFF, “The U-23 Gulf Cup is reflective of our strong commitment to nurturing young, emerging football talents in the region, and fostering competitiveness in this age group. This is a pivotal stage for young players to make their transition to senior teams, and we encourage fans to show their support for these future stars in the making.”
Event Format and Schedule
The tournament will feature eight teams divided into two groups. Hosts Qatar will lead Group A alongside Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kuwait. Group B will be led by Iraq, which will compete against the UAE, Oman, and Yemen. A total of 14 matches will be played during the group stage across two state-of-the-art pitches at Aspire Zone, which recently hosted the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
All group stage matches will be free for fans, allowing attendees from the region to enjoy the action without the need for tickets. The tournament will kick off on December 4 at 14:45 local time, with Iraq facing Yemen. The hosts will play their first match a day later, on December 5, against Kuwait, also at 14:45.
Final and Accessibility
The tournament’s final will take place on December 16 at Stadium 974, notable for being the first fully demountable covered football stadium in FIFA World Cup history. Tickets for the final will be available soon.
Both tournament venues are designed to be accessible, ensuring a barrier-free experience for fans with disabilities. This commitment to inclusivity reflects Qatar’s broader goal of providing exceptional experiences during its sporting events.
The AGCFF U-23 Gulf Cup Qatar 2025 is part of an exciting football season in the country, coinciding with the FIFA Arab Cup from December 1 to 18 and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup on December 10, 13, and 17. These events underscore Qatar’s capabilities in hosting world-class sporting events simultaneously.
