Welo Data Expands Operations to Qatar, Enhancing AI Data Solutions
Welo Data Middle East LLC, operating as Welo Data, has announced its expansion into Qatar. This strategic move aims to address the increasing demand for Arabic-language AI data and ethical evaluation frameworks in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The company, which is a division of Welocalize, specializes in culturally aligned, human-centered AI data solutions.
With its new presence in Qatar, Welo Data seeks to enhance collaboration with regional enterprises. The expansion will promote advancements in AI innovation and digital transformation throughout the Gulf. By providing high-quality datasets and evaluation frameworks, Welo Data ensures that AI models operate effectively across various dialects, domains, and cultural contexts.
“Our expansion into Qatar reinforces our long-standing belief that high-performing AI begins with high data integrity and cultural fluency,” stated Siobhan Hanna, General Manager of Welo Data. She emphasized that the MENA region is rapidly influencing the global AI landscape, not just through innovation but by leading the development of systems that prioritize linguistic and cultural authenticity. Welo Data aims to support this momentum by offering data and evaluation solutions grounded in trust and respect for local values.
The demand for high-quality Arabic-language data has surged as AI adoption accelerates across the Gulf. According to Grand View Research, the MENA artificial intelligence market is expected to grow from USD 11.92 billion in 2023 to USD 166.33 billion by 2030, reflecting a compound annual growth rate of nearly 45%. Countries like Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE are heavily investing in national AI programs, creating a need for dialect-specific and culturally safe evaluation pipelines.
Welo Data’s expertise in workforce assurance, identity verification, and multilingual evaluation frameworks will support these initiatives. The company aims to help organizations deploy secure, bias-resistant, and culturally responsible AI systems at scale.
“Reliable AI starts with reliable data—and that requires both technical precision and cultural depth,” Hanna added. The expansion into Qatar is expected to enable Welo Data to assist organizations in building models that accurately reflect the region’s cultural diversity and function effectively across different Arabic dialects.
As Welo Data embarks on this new chapter in Qatar, it positions itself as a key player in the rapidly evolving AI landscape, committed to fostering growth and innovation in the MENA region.
