Princess Bajrakitiyabha Faces Serious Health Setback in Hospital

The Thai royal family is facing a significant health crisis as Princess Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol battles a serious blood infection. According to a statement from the Bureau of the Royal Household, the princess has been unconscious and hospitalized for over two years due to a heart condition. This condition began following a military dog training session in December 2022 in Nakhon Ratchasima, located north of Bangkok.

The medical team reported that the princess’s lungs and kidneys are functioning with the aid of medical devices and medication. As of August 9, 2025, doctors detected a severe infection in her bloodstream, prompting immediate treatment with antibiotics and additional medications to support her blood pressure.
