Thai Princess Bajrakitiyabha Faces Severe Blood Infection in Hospital

The health of Princess Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol, the eldest daughter of the Thai King, has deteriorated as she battles a severe blood infection. The royal palace disclosed this information on Friday, marking the first official update on her condition in over two years. The princess has been hospitalized since December 2022 after suffering a heart condition during a military dog training session in Nakhon Ratchasima, located north of Bangkok.
According to a statement from the Bureau of the Royal Household, the princess remains unconscious and is receiving medical support. The report emphasized that both her lungs and kidneys are functioning with assistance from medical devices and medication. It was noted that on August 9, 2025, medical professionals detected a severe infection in her bloodstream. As a response, they have implemented a treatment plan that includes antibiotics and medication to stimulate her blood pressure, ensuring stable levels during this critical time.
The princess’s health challenges have drawn significant public attention, given her role in the royal family and her previous involvement in various philanthropic activities. Her prolonged illness has sparked concern among the Thai populace, who have closely followed updates regarding her condition.
Throughout her life, Princess Bajrakitiyabha has been recognized for her commitment to social causes, particularly in areas related to health and education. Her ongoing health crisis not only affects her family but also resonates with many citizens who admire her contributions to society.
As the royal household continues to monitor her health, the nation remains hopeful for a positive turnaround. The medical team remains vigilant, closely assessing her response to treatment as they navigate the complexities of her condition. The situation remains critical, and further updates from the palace are anticipated as the medical team works diligently to provide the necessary care.
