Hajmah Triumphs in Gr.3 Prix Nevadour at La Teste

In a remarkable display of talent, Hajmah secured victory in the Gr.3 (PA) Prix Nevadour, confirming her status as one of the leading fillies in her generation. The race, exclusively for four-year-old mares, took place at La Teste and spanned a distance of 1,900 meters, featuring a competitive field of eight participants.
Trained by Thomas Fourcy and ridden by Fabrice Veron, Hajmah raced under the colors of Al Shaqab Racing. She entered this race following her impressive win against male competitors in the Gr.1 (PA) Qatar Derby des Pur-Sang Arabes de 4 ans at Chantilly. This latest success marks her third Group (PA) victory.
Strong Performance Despite Slow Start
Although Hajmah started slowly, she settled at the rear as the race unfolded. The early pace was set by Ghaidaa, with Alhaan and the favored Lacaro du Croate closely tracking. As the horses navigated the track, Intisar de Monlau made a move on the inside to challenge the leader approaching the final bend, while Hajmah remained in last place.
As they entered the home straight, Hajmah began to show her strength. She needed to find a way around the other horses, as the field drifted toward the stands’ side in search of better ground. Once she found clear space, Hajmah unleashed an impressive turn of foot within the final 400 meters. She overtook the favorite and then challenged Geneva, who had taken the lead.
Hajmah won decisively by three-quarters of a length, with Geneva finishing in second place and Lacaro du Croate securing third.
Background and Breeding of Hajmah
Bred by Al Shaqab Racing, Hajmah is the offspring of Easter de Faust, a Gr.1 (PA) winner at 2,000 meters in the Qatar Arabian Trophy des Pouliches. Easter de Faust also won the Gr.3 (PA) over 1,600 meters the same year. Notably, she is a half-sister to Battash De Faust, who has multiple victories over 1,400 meters and finished third in a Gr.1 (PA) event over 1,600 meters in Doha at the age of three.
This victory further cements Hajmah’s reputation and showcases the exceptional talent within the ranks of Arabian horse racing, particularly among fillies. The victory at La Teste not only highlights her capabilities on the track but also sets the stage for future competitions.
