Sterling Express showcased his remarkable talent by clinching victory in the Group 2 Waikato Stud Foxbridge Plate on August 26, 2023, at Te Rapa. This marked the horse’s debut at the Group level, and his breathtaking last-to-first run confirmed his place among elite competitors.

The homebred son of Shamexpress, owned by Gloria Macrae and Brian McKeagg, entered the race with a solid track record, having achieved seven wins from 18 starts.
