HBH Dayclub Expands Services with Saturday Program for Seniors

HBH Group, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting older adults in East Auckland for over 40 years, is expanding its popular Dayclub services to include Saturdays starting in September 2023. This initiative aims to provide additional companionship and support for seniors who live at home but require social interaction and assistance during the day.
Established with a mission to foster compassion, respect, and community values, HBH Group offers a range of services, including rest home and hospital care, independent living, and community programs. The Dayclub stands out as one of its most cherished offerings, allowing older individuals to engage in meaningful activities, share meals, and build friendships.
Many families have expressed their appreciation for the Dayclub, noting the positive impact it has on their loved ones. One family member shared, “My husband would be lost without the support and friendship he receives here.” Another commented, “Mum comes home more alive and alert. It gives me strength just knowing she has been with friends and caring staff.”
The introduction of Saturday Dayclub is intended to address the sometimes quiet and lonely weekends for seniors. The program will feature a variety of activities, such as singing, ukulele sessions, and target bowls, ensuring that participants enjoy lively and fulfilling days filled with laughter and companionship.
As one carer noted, “The program is a lifesaver for me. I could not manage without it.” This sentiment reflects the essential role that Dayclub plays not only in the lives of seniors but also in providing peace of mind for their families.
Expressions of interest for the Saturday sessions are currently being accepted. For further details, interested parties can contact Lorraine at 09 538 0809. With this expansion, HBH Group continues to affirm its commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors in the community.
