Qatar Handball Team Faces Tough Competition in Asian Youth Games

The draw for the handball competition at the 3rd Asian Youth Games has placed the Qatari national team in Group D, alongside teams from Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, and the Maldives. The event is scheduled to take place in Bahrain from October 22 to 31, 2023.

The tournament features a total of four groups. In Group A, the teams competing are Bahrain, Jordan, and Thailand. Group B consists of Kuwait, China, and India, while Group C includes Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, and Hong Kong.

Qatar’s national handball team has a strong legacy in this competition, having won the gold medal at the 2nd Asian Youth Games held in Nanjing in 2013. In that final, they triumphed over South Korea with a convincing score of 28-21.
