Loafers Lodge Arson Suspect Faces Jury Over Past Convictions

The trial of the man accused of igniting the deadly blaze at the Loafers Lodge began in the High Court in Wellington, where the jury learned about the defendant’s extensive criminal history. The 50-year-old, whose identity is protected by a court order, faces five counts of murder for allegedly setting fire to the boarding house on May 16, 2023.
