Black Caps Announce Squad for T20I Series Against Australia

The New Zealand national cricket team, known as the Black Caps, has officially announced its squad for the upcoming T20I series against Australia, set to begin on October 1, 2025. The announcement was made during an episode of “Sports Fix” with host D’Arcy Waldegrave, who interviewed captain Michael Bracewell regarding the team’s preparations and expectations for this highly anticipated series.
Bracewell expressed confidence in the squad’s abilities, highlighting the team’s focus on building momentum against a formidable Australian side. “We know the challenge that lies ahead,” Bracewell stated. “Australia is always a tough opponent, especially in T20 formats. Our players are ready to put in the hard work and showcase their skills.”
The T20I series is part of the storied Chappell-Hadlee Trophy, which has a rich history and is highly regarded among cricket fans. With matches expected to draw significant attention, the Black Caps will aim to leverage their home advantage as they face their rivals.
In addition to the T20I squad announcement, Waldegrave and NZME multimedia sports journalist Nathan Limm discussed the ongoing case involving former All Whites player Clayton Lewis, who is facing allegations of match-fixing. The situation has raised concerns in the sports community about integrity and accountability in athletics.
Additionally, the conversation shifted to rugby, with news that 13 All Blacks will be returning to play in the National Provincial Championship (NPC) this weekend. This development is expected to invigorate the competition and provide fans with exciting matchups. The rise of athletics in New Zealand was also a point of discussion, highlighting the growing interest and participation in various sports across the country.
Listeners can catch “Sports Fix” every weekday afternoon on iHeartRadio or through their preferred podcast platform. The program not only covers cricket and rugby but also delves into broader sports topics, making it a comprehensive resource for sports enthusiasts.
As the T20I series approaches, anticipation builds among fans and players alike, with both teams eager to claim victory in this prestigious battle.
