Bakers Support Queenstown Trails with Free Community Event

A local bakery in Queenstown is taking significant steps to support the community by partnering with the Queenstown Trails Trust. Owners Amanda Price and Peter O’Donoghue, who have operated European Bakery since 2019, are excited to announce their new role as corporate supporters of the trust. This initiative aligns with their long-standing connection to Queenstown, which dates back to the 1980s.
Price and O’Donoghue have witnessed the remarkable transformation of the trail network over the years. Price noted that their decision to support the trust was inspired while they were out riding the trails. “It’s amazing to see the expansion of the network and the positive environmental impacts it’s having, from conservation to trapping and planting,” O’Donoghue commented.
To celebrate this partnership, the bakery will host a free community event on October 4, 2023, at Tucker Beach Reserve, located near the Kimi-akau Bridge. The event will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, where trail users can enjoy locally-made donuts and other treats while exploring the beautiful Queenstown trails.
Emily O’Leary, partnerships manager for the Queenstown Trails Trust, expressed her enthusiasm about European Bakery’s support. “We are absolutely thrilled. Amanda, Peter, and their staff are such avid trail users who genuinely appreciate and understand the value and benefits the trails bring to our region,” she said.
This collaboration not only enhances community engagement but also underscores the vital role local businesses play in promoting outdoor activities and environmental stewardship. As the trail network continues to grow, initiatives like this highlight the importance of maintaining and supporting such valuable assets for both residents and visitors in Queenstown.
