Snells Beach Kindy to Host Annual Garage Sale Fundraiser
A community garage sale is set to take place at the Mahurangi East Community Centre, hosted by the Snells Beach Kindy on October 11, 2023. This annual event encourages residents to declutter while supporting local education. The sale will run from noon to 15:00, offering a platform for individuals to sell secondhand items, handmade goods, and crafted items.
Tables for the sale can be booked for $20 each, according to the organizers. The event is a collaborative effort between the kindy’s Parent Whanau Group and its dedicated teaching staff. Proceeds will be directed towards purchasing resources and funding activities that enrich children’s learning experiences.
Community Support Vital for Success
Jen Saunders, a member of the Parent Whanau Group, emphasized the significance of fundraising events for the not-for-profit kindy. Limited funding necessitates creative solutions for resource acquisition. “This year, our Garage Sale fundraising will help cover the cost of materials and construction of a jetty, stepping posts, and a garden surrounding our playground boat,” Saunders stated. The enhancements are designed to ensure year-round enjoyment for the children.
In addition to the stalls, attendees can enjoy coffee and food, making the garage sale a social event as well. The Parent Whanau Group extends its gratitude to local sponsors, including Sarah Taylor and Kersna Claxton from Harcourts North Rodney, for their support in making the event possible.
Families interested in participating or seeking additional information can reach out via email at [email protected]. This garage sale represents an opportunity for community members to contribute to a worthy cause while clearing out their homes in the spirit of spring cleaning.
