CDNetworks Expands Partnership with Workonline to Boost Content Delivery in Africa

CDNetworks, a leading network in the Asia-Pacific region specializing in edge services, has announced an expansion of its partnership with Workonline Communications, a prominent IP transit provider in Africa. This strategic collaboration aims to enhance the delivery of high-performance, low-latency content from APAC content providers to users across the African continent. The announcement was made on October 16, 2025.
The partnership is a response to the increasing demand for content originating from the Asia-Pacific region, particularly in sectors such as gaming, video, and applications. By working together, CDNetworks and Workonline aim to provide faster and more seamless digital experiences for end users in Africa. Following initial deployments in South Africa in 2023 and Kenya in early 2024, the companies are now targeting expansion into key West African markets, including Ghana and Nigeria.
Strengthening Infrastructure Across Africa
The partnership supports CDNetworks’ ongoing commitment to improving global infrastructure and its focus on emerging markets. According to Antony Li, Global Head of Infrastructure at CDNetworks, “CDNetworks is proud to deepen our relationship with Workonline as we continue to scale our presence in Africa. Together, we’re enabling millions of users to enjoy high-quality content experiences powered by world-class infrastructure.”
The need for low-latency and high-availability content delivery is particularly critical in Africa’s mobile-first landscape. Benjamin Deveaux, Head of Business Development at Workonline Communications Group, emphasized this point, stating, “By integrating with Workonline’s IP transit services and extensive network reach, CDNetworks is uniquely positioned to meet the rising appetite for Asian digital content, whether for entertainment, commerce, or education.”
Expanding Network Footprint
This partnership builds upon Workonline’s extensive network, which includes Points of Presence (PoPs) in key locations such as Cape Town, Johannesburg, Nairobi, and Singapore. Workonline’s interconnections with major subsea cable systems further enhance its ability to deliver reliable connectivity across the continent.
With more than 2,800 global Points of Presence and over 20 years of experience, CDNetworks aims to provide the fastest and most secure digital experiences to end users. Their wide range of services includes web performance, media delivery, cloud security, edge computing, and colocation services, all designed to drive business innovation.
As the demand for Asian content continues to grow, this expanded partnership positions both CDNetworks and Workonline to significantly impact the digital landscape in Africa, improving access to quality content for millions.
