Gulf Businesswomen Forum Kicks Off in Doha on November 12
The seventh Gulf Businesswomen Forum is set to commence on November 12, 2023, at the Mandarin Oriental in Msheireb, Doha, under the auspices of Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, Chairman of the Qatar Chamber. This two-day event highlights the pivotal role of women in the Gulf business landscape and aims to foster connections among female entrepreneurs across the region.
Organized by the Federation of Gulf Cooperation Council Chambers (FGCCC) in collaboration with the Qatar Chamber and supported by the GCC General Secretariat, the forum is sponsored by QNB as its strategic partner. The event is expected to attract a diverse group of economic leaders, businesswomen, and innovators from across the Gulf region.
Key Initiatives and Discussions
During the opening ceremony, Sheikh Faisal bin Abdulla Al Rawas, Chairman of the FGCCC, will address attendees alongside influential figures in the business community. A significant highlight of the first day is the launch of the Gulf Businesswomen Platform, a cornerstone initiative aimed at unifying businesswomen across the GCC.
According to Saleh bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Secretary-General of the FGCCC, this platform is designed to create an interactive system that fosters experience sharing among women entrepreneurs. It aims to broaden investment avenues for Gulf women while promoting partnerships rooted in principles of sustainability and the green economy.
The platform represents a strategic advancement in empowering women within the private sector by providing a digital environment that enhances collaboration and expands their presence in regional and global markets.
Panel Sessions and Future Outlook
The second day of the forum will feature a series of panel discussions focusing on critical themes in business. One key session, titled “Gulf Businesswomen and Sustainable Investment,” will explore the current landscape of investments made by Gulf women and the opportunities for future growth.
Another important session, “Gulf Women Entrepreneurs: From Tradition to Innovation,” will emphasize the importance of empowering women in the digital economy and will highlight innovative business models that are emerging in the region.
The forum will conclude with a session on “Arbitration in Enhancing the Gulf Women’s Business Environment,” which will delve into the role of arbitration in safeguarding the investments of Gulf businesswomen, addressing a crucial aspect of their entrepreneurial journey.
This forum not only serves as a platform for dialogue but also as a catalyst for change, reinforcing the vital contributions of women in the Gulf’s economic development. As the event unfolds, it promises to inspire and empower a new generation of business leaders in the region.
