The Arthurs Point hotel in Queenstown has undergone a significant transformation, reopening to guests on October 30, 2023, following a $30 million renovation. This extensive upgrade includes a total of 41 rooms, with several luxurious suites designed to appeal to the premium market.

New Dining and Wellness Facilities Enhance Guest Experience

In addition to the revamped accommodations, the hotel will unveil the Elevation Bar & Restaurant on the following Monday, November 6, 2023. The restaurant will be led by executive chef Dominic Dsouza, who draws on his Indian heritage and European training in Michelin-starred restaurants to craft a unique dining experience that highlights fresh New Zealand ingredients.

Guests will also enjoy a range of new amenities, including a state-of-the-art fitness centre, squash courts, a Roman-style spa, an outdoor jacuzzi, a conference room with a wrap-around deck, and a private cinema. Clare Davis, founder and managing director of Capstone Hotel Management, which has been appointed to manage the resort, expressed enthusiasm about the project. “The feedback we’ve had from trade and media has been overwhelming, so the product’s really hitting the mark in that luxury market,” she stated.

Investment and Upgrades Meet Regulatory Standards

The $30 million makeover follows the $20,125,000 acquisition of the property in 2023 by a subsidiary of the Singaporean/New Zealand company New Bay Group. As a condition of approval from the Overseas Investment Commission, the group committed to investing at least $9 million in upgrades to elevate the property to a five-star resort standard.

Early bookings for the newly renovated hotel are reported to be “really solid,” according to Davis, indicating a strong demand for luxury accommodations in the region. With its comprehensive upgrades and new offerings, the Arthurs Point hotel aims to position itself as a premier destination for both local and international travelers.
