Amy Schumer Files for Divorce from Chris Fischer After Seven Years
American actor Amy Schumer has officially filed for divorce from her husband, Chris Fischer, after seven years of marriage. The announcement follows Schumer’s confirmation last month that she and Fischer had separated. Court records from New York County indicate that the divorce filing has been formally submitted.
Schumer, known for her role in the film Trainwreck, took to Instagram to share the news with her followers. In a post featuring a picture of the couple riding a train, she expressed their mutual love and commitment to co-parenting their six-year-old son, Gene. Accompanying the image, Schumer included the U2 song “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For,” which added emotional weight to her message.
In her post, Schumer stated, “Blah blah blah Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after 7 years. We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son.” She also requested respect for their privacy during this challenging time.
The couple’s relationship has drawn public attention over the years, particularly since their marriage in February 2018. They welcomed Gene into their family shortly after, and Schumer has often shared anecdotes about motherhood and family life in her comedy routines and public appearances.
As the news of their divorce spreads, fans and followers have offered support to both Schumer and Fischer. The couple’s amicable separation appears to focus on maintaining a positive environment for their son amid the transition.
With the divorce now filed, it marks a significant chapter in the lives of both Schumer and Fischer as they navigate their future paths. The actor, who has been open about her experiences with love and relationships, will likely continue to share her journey with her audience.
