American actress Christina Applegate has been hospitalized due to a kidney infection she developed during a recent trip to Europe. The 53-year-old star experienced severe pain and stomach issues, prompting her to seek medical attention immediately upon her return to Los Angeles.

She described the intense pain that had her “screaming” and insisted on being admitted to the hospital for comprehensive testing. “I want every test that you can possibly think of or ones that you haven’t even thought of, and I want them done,” she stated.

Initially, Applegate feared that her appendix might be bursting. However, a CT scan revealed the more serious condition of a kidney infection that had spread to both kidneys. “My brain’s like: ‘Oh, my appendix is bursting’,” Applegate recounted. The intense discomfort prompted her to request an emergency CT scan at 02:00.
