Christina Applegate Hospitalized for Kidney Infection After European Trip

American actress Christina Applegate has been hospitalized due to a kidney infection she developed during a recent trip to Europe. The 53-year-old star experienced severe pain and stomach issues, prompting her to seek medical attention immediately upon her return to Los Angeles.
Applegate shared her distressing experience during an episode of her podcast, MeSsy, which she recorded from her hospital bed. She described the intense pain that had her “screaming” and insisted on being admitted to the hospital for comprehensive testing. “I want every test that you can possibly think of or ones that you haven’t even thought of, and I want them done,” she stated.
Initially, Applegate feared that her appendix might be bursting. However, a CT scan revealed the more serious condition of a kidney infection that had spread to both kidneys. “My brain’s like: ‘Oh, my appendix is bursting’,” Applegate recounted. The intense discomfort prompted her to request an emergency CT scan at 02:00.
The actress’s health issues come at a challenging time, as she has been open about her struggles with multiple sclerosis, a condition she was diagnosed with in 2021. Her determination to understand her health concerns reflects her proactive approach to medical care.
As she navigates this latest health challenge, Applegate continues to connect with her audience through her podcast, sharing candid insights into her life and experiences. Fans and followers have expressed their support for her journey, highlighting the importance of mental and physical well-being.
While Applegate’s current condition remains a concern, she remains focused on her recovery and the pursuit of answers regarding her health. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of seeking medical help when experiencing unexplained pain or discomfort.
