Mel B Surprised by Spice Girls’ Attendance at Her Weddings

Mel B, the renowned member of the Spice Girls, expressed her surprise at the attendance of two of her bandmates during her recent weddings. The 50-year-old pop star tied the knot with Rory McPhee at London’s historic St Paul’s Cathedral in July 2023. Just a month later, she celebrated a second wedding in Morocco, hosting a lavish three-day ceremony at Selman Marrakech.
Reflecting on the special occasions, Mel B revealed that she did not anticipate any of her fellow Spice Girls would attend. She shared her thoughts during an interview with the New York Post, stating, “I didn’t expect any of them to come, to be honest, because it was a very intimate, private thing, and I know everybody’s busy.”
Bandmates’ Attendance Surprises Mel B
Despite her initial expectations, two members of the iconic girl group made the journey to support her. Emma Bunton attended the ceremony in London, while Mel C joined the festivities in Marrakech. Mel B conveyed her delight at their presence, stating, “So when they [Emma Bunton and Mel C] were there, I was like: ‘Oh, wow!’”
The singer acknowledged that her bandmates had their own commitments, noting, “Victoria Beckham was busy and she sent me lots of gifts, and Geri Horner was off with Formula One.” She expressed gratitude for the well-wishes she received from those who could not attend, including FaceTime conversations with her busy friends.
Mel B’s weddings marked a significant chapter in her life, showcasing both her personal commitment and the enduring bond she shares with her fellow Spice Girls. The heartfelt support from her bandmates highlights the camaraderie that remains strong among the group, even as their individual lives evolve.
As Mel B embarks on this new journey with Rory McPhee, her surprise at the attendance of Emma and Mel serves as a reminder of the lasting friendships formed during their time as one of pop music’s most beloved girl groups.
