Rhythm and Vines Festival Readies for New Year Celebrations
Organisers of the Rhythm and Vines festival in Gisborne are fully prepared for a successful New Year’s celebration as thousands gather at the Waiohika Estate vineyard. The three-day music and camping festival, which has been a staple since its inception in 2003, has attracted a lively crowd despite challenging weather conditions.
Heavy rain fell overnight, followed by lighter showers expected throughout the day. Yet, festival-goers remain optimistic and in high spirits, ready to enjoy the array of performances and festivities leading up to New Year’s Day.
Comprehensive Safety Measures in Place
According to Kieran Spillane, Director of Live Nation Festivals, the team has implemented extensive safety measures to ensure the well-being of all attendees. Speaking with radio host Andrew Dickens, Spillane confirmed that the festival has deployed 350 security guards throughout the venue. In addition, local police are conducting regular patrols to maintain safety and order.
Medical services are also a top priority, with 30 paramedics on standby to respond to any incidents. The festival staff have prepared for various scenarios to ensure that attendees can enjoy the event with peace of mind.
In efforts to promote a safe environment, the festival will also conduct drug and alcohol breath testing. These measures reflect a commitment to ensuring that the event remains both enjoyable and secure for everyone involved.
A Festival with a Rich History
Rhythm and Vines has established itself as a significant event in New Zealand’s music calendar. Since 2003, it has drawn thousands of music lovers each year, offering a platform for both international and local artists. This year, the festival continues its tradition of showcasing a diverse range of musical genres, engaging fans from various backgrounds.
As the countdown to New Year’s begins, the atmosphere at Waiohika Estate is electric. With strong preparations in place, the team is confident that Rhythm and Vines will deliver an unforgettable experience for all attendees, setting the stage for a vibrant start to 2024.
