Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Pursues Early Release After 13 Months in Jail

Sean “Diddy” Combs is seeking to shorten his prison sentence after spending 13 months in detention. The 55-year-old music mogul, currently incarcerated in the United States, was convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. As he prepares for his sentencing hearing on October 3, 2025, Combs’ legal team has submitted a request for a more lenient punishment.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, the recommended sentencing guideline for Combs’ conviction suggests a term of six to twelve months in prison for each count. His attorneys argue that this duration would better reflect the seriousness of the offences. Combs has emphasized that he has already endured significant hardship during his time at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Centre, where he was incarcerated after his arrest on various charges in September 2024.
In a statement, Combs noted his commitment to rehabilitation, claiming he has achieved sobriety for the first time in 25 years. He reported that he has also worked to inspire other inmates through a personal program. Furthermore, he highlighted his “incident-free record” while in custody, asserting that he has no previous criminal history.
The founder of Bad Boy Records expressed concerns over the impact of his arrest and conviction on his personal and professional life. He stated that the situation has severely damaged his reputation and has had detrimental effects on his family. Combs pointed out that his seven children and elderly mother depend on him for care and support, underscoring the personal stakes involved in his case.
As the date of his sentencing approaches, the outcome remains uncertain. Combs’ attorneys are advocating for a resolution that reflects both the circumstances of his conviction and the time already served. The legal proceedings will determine whether he will be granted an early release or face a more extended period behind bars.
