He stated, “The city will be transformed into an international celebration that puts our capital on the world festival map.”
Transformative Experience for Wellington
The Ultra Music Festival, which has garnered a reputation as one of the best in the world, is poised to elevate Wellington’s status in the international music community. The festival will feature **four stages**, showcasing an impressive lineup of artists, many of whom have headlined previous Ultra events. Notable performers have included **David Guetta**, **Calvin Harris**, **Skrillex**, **Tiësto**, **Armin van Buuren**, **Martin Garrix**, **Deadmau5**, and **Charlotte de Witte**.
Lowe emphasized the festival’s potential to attract international visitors, stating, “People travel far and wide to attend Ultra, and we’re excited to show international visitors what the country has to offer, all while giving our prized locals something to be proud of.”
The event is expected to significantly boost local businesses, including hotels, restaurants, and transport services, providing much-needed economic support following recent challenges faced by the hospitality sector.
Looking Ahead
The introduction of the Ultra Music Festival to Wellington adds to the city’s vibrant cultural landscape. It presents an opportunity for local artists to gain exposure alongside global stars, fostering a greater appreciation for New Zealand’s music industry.
As the countdown to April 2024 begins, excitement is building among fans and artists alike.
