Al Shaqab International Arabian Horse Show Crowns Top Champions
The prestigious Al Shaqab International Arabian Horse Show concluded on March 15, 2025, in Doha, at the renowned Longines Outdoor Arena. This four-day event showcased the best Arabian horses, culminating in the final championship rounds that crowned top contenders in various categories, including Yearling, Junior, and Senior divisions.
Shihanah KL from Kaheel Stud claimed the title of champion in the Yearling Fillies category. Meanwhile, Dandon KL, also representing Kaheel Stud, emerged victorious in the Yearling Colts championship class. The competition highlighted the excellence and potential of Arabian horses, drawing participants and spectators from around the globe.
The gold medal in the Junior Fillies Championship was awarded to Shaella Al Wajba of Al Wajba Stud. In the Junior Colts class, Yulib Al Shahania, owned by Sheikha Eman bint Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani, took the top honors. The Senior Mares Championship saw Thorya Al Hawajer from Al Thamer Stud win first place, while Wajeeh Aljassimya, owned by Aljassimya Stud, captured gold in the Senior Stallions Championship.
Continuing Tradition and Excellence
This year’s show continued to feature the popular Foal Classes, which include both Filly Foals and Colt Foals. Such categories were first introduced in the previous edition, further emphasizing Al Shaqab’s commitment to supporting the complete development cycle of Arabian horse breeding. The inclusion of these classes provides an important platform for showcasing promising young bloodlines at an early stage.
Khalifa Bin Mohammed Al Attiyah, CEO of Al Shaqab, expressed the organization’s dedication to preserving the heritage of the Arabian horse. Prize Distribution and Recognition
To recognize the achievements of the top competitors, gold winners across all championship categories received QR100,000, silver winners QR70,000, and bronze winners QR50,000. This financial incentive underscores the importance of excellence in Arabian horse breeding and competition.
The success of the 2025 Al Shaqab International Arabian Horse Show not only highlights the extraordinary talent present within the Arabian horse community but also reinforces Qatar’s position as a leader in this prestigious domain.
