Australian Mother Chloe Mowday in Critical Condition After Surgery
An Australian mother is currently in a critical condition in a Vietnamese hospital following complications from cosmetic surgery. Chloe Mowday, 31, underwent two procedures—rhinoplasty and blepharoplasty—at a medical facility in Da Nang. She was accompanied by her husband, Josh, and their five-year-old son, Elijah, as part of a planned family trip that included visits to Disneyland Hong Kong and Universal Studios in Singapore.
According to her brother, Rod Mowday, Chloe’s health took a drastic turn the morning after her surgery. He reported that she appeared unwell and later became unresponsive. Tragically, Rod stated that Chloe “effectively died” while being transported from her hotel to the hospital and required resuscitation to stabilize her condition.
Family and Friends Rally for Support
Chloe’s family is now urging the public to pray for her recovery. Rod expressed the emotional toll this ordeal has taken on their family, emphasizing the shock of such a sudden and severe health crisis during what was meant to be a joyful vacation. He described Chloe as a devoted mother whose primary focus was her children.
The situation has raised concerns about the safety of cosmetic procedures abroad, particularly in regions where regulations may differ significantly from those in Australia. According to the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, individuals considering surgery overseas should thoroughly research the qualifications of medical professionals and the standards of care in the destination country.
Ongoing Medical Care and Future Prospects
Chloe remains in an induced coma as medical staff continue to monitor her condition. The family has expressed gratitude for the care she is receiving in Vietnam but remain anxious about her long-term recovery. They are also preparing for potential logistics concerning her return to Australia, should her condition allow for it.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the risks associated with seeking cosmetic enhancements abroad. As the family navigates this challenging time, their focus remains on Chloe’s health and well-being.
