beIN SPORTS achieved a significant milestone by winning gold in the ‘Best Use of Digital in Entertainment and Sports’ category at the MENA Digital Awards 2025. This accolade was awarded in recognition of the network’s extensive and innovative coverage of the UEFA European Football Championship (EURO 2024), which took place across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

Acknowledging Digital Excellence

The MENA Digital Awards, established in 2014, aim to celebrate creativity and innovation in media across the region. This year’s ceremony unfolded in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where beIN SPORTS showcased its month-long, digital-first strategy during EURO 2024, which ran from June 14 to July 14. The tournament concluded with a thrilling final in which Spain triumphed over England.

Holding exclusive broadcasting rights to all 51 matches, beIN SPORTS endeavored to create an immersive experience for football fans. Every match was streamed live across its linear channels, complemented by a trilingual broadcast approach. The network featured expert analyses from football legends and on-the-ground reporting from 10 cities in host country Germany. All content was simultaneously available on beIN’s OTT platform, beIN CONNECT, allowing fans to engage with the tournament at their convenience.

Driving Engagement and Community Growth

beIN SPORTS reported unprecedented engagement levels across its social and digital channels, amassing over 2.6 billion impressions and more than 1.5 billion video views. Throughout the tournament, the network published over 6,360 social media posts on platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, and Snapchat, all tailored to the specific audience of each platform.

The digital experience extended to beIN CONNECT, where fans collectively spent 14.5 million minutes engaging with live streams, match replays, and editorial content. The platform attracted a total of 430,000 unique digital viewers during the tournament, reflecting the strong interest in football across the region. Content was produced continuously, adapting to match outcomes, breaking moments, and audience feedback, ensuring a relevant and compelling viewing experience.

Jassim Al-Muftah, Director of Corporate Communications at beIN MENA, expressed pride in the recognition received for their digital coverage of EURO 2024. He stated, “We have consistently said beIN will continue to raise the standards of media and broadcast in this region. With this latest MENA Digital Award for EURO 2024, we can confidently say we are being true to our word and raising the broadcast bar.”

The recognition arrives at a strategic time for beIN SPORTS, as the network gears up for its football coverage for the 2025-26 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, which are being aired live and exclusively across 24 MENA markets. The broadcaster continues to cover all matches in prominent leagues, including the Premier League, LALIGA, and Ligue 1, while preparing for the upcoming season of the AFC Asian Champions League Elite, Champions League Two, and Challenge League.
