Hamad Al-Hammadi Elected QTTA President for 2025-2028 Term
Hamad Ahmed Al-Hammadi has been elected President of the Qatar Table Tennis Association (QTTA) for the 2025-2028 term, a decision made by acclamation during the General Assembly meeting held in Doha. The assembly was chaired by outgoing President Khalil Al-Mohannadi, marking a significant transition for the federation.
The meeting reached a quorum yesterday, with attendance from General Assembly members, club representatives, and officials from the Qatar Olympic Committee. Al-Mohannadi was unanimously recognized as honorary president of the QTTA, acknowledging his over three decades of dedicated service to the organization.
Leadership Transitions and Future Goals
In addition to Al-Hammadi’s election, Ahmed Khalil Al-Mohannadi was appointed Secretary General. Jaber Saeed Afifa, Mohammed Hassan Al-Rumaihi, and Abdullah Bader Al-Sada also joined the Board of Directors, all by acclamation. This new leadership team embodies a commitment to continuity within the QTTA while aiming to innovate and enhance its operations.
Reflecting on his long tenure, Khalil Al-Mohannadi stated, “These years were not merely administrative work, but a journey to build a Qatari sporting legacy that we all take pride in.” He emphasized the collective efforts of boards, coaches, players, and administrators in achieving numerous milestones, including hosting prestigious events such as World Championships and Asian tournaments.
As Hamad Al-Hammadi steps into his new role, he expressed a sense of historic responsibility, saying he intends to preserve the federation’s legacy while focusing on youth development and identifying promising Qatari talents. “We will continue the path of global successes while pursuing continuity with renewal,” he remarked, highlighting the aim to strengthen Doha’s status as a global table tennis hub.
Commitment to Development and Future Initiatives
Secretary General Ahmed Khalil Al-Mohannadi reiterated the importance of building upon past achievements. He stated, “Our focus will be on supporting clubs, developing local competitions, and providing the best possible support for our national teams.” This commitment aligns with the values established by his father, Khalil Al-Mohannadi, during his extensive tenure.
During the assembly, the participants ratified the minutes from the previous meeting, reviewed the 2024-2025 Board report, discussed future participation plans, and approved the draft budget for 2026. These actions signify the QTTA’s dedication to institutional maturity and innovation.
The new leadership embodies Qatar’s resolve to maintain its international prominence in table tennis, ensuring that the sport continues to thrive and develop within the nation.
