Lusail Circuit Prepares for Thrilling 2025 F1 Qatar Grand Prix
Doha, Qatar: Lusail International Circuit (LIC) is gearing up for the highly anticipated Formula 1 Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix 2025, set to take place from November 28 to 30, 2025. During a recent press conference, officials announced the countdown to the event, outlining preparations to welcome fans, drivers, and teams for an exhilarating race weekend.
The event featured presentations by Ali Al Dosari, Executive Director of Operations at LIC, and Hamad Alkhalaqi, PR & Communications Manager. They highlighted the circuit’s final preparations, including on-track activities, sustainability initiatives, and community programs aimed at enhancing the fan experience.
Exciting Race Schedule and Entertainment Lineup
The weekend’s schedule promises action-packed events for all attendees, including the Formula 1 Sprint Race, FIA Formula 2 Championship, and Porsche Carrera Middle East Cup. This ensures a continuous flow of high-octane racing that will keep fans on the edge of their seats.
Entertainment off the track is equally impressive. On Friday, globally renowned British singer Seal will perform, followed by a concert by the legendary rock band Metallica on Sunday. The newly designed Fan Zone will offer an interactive experience, featuring a larger family area, diverse food options, and a dedicated cultural zone that celebrates Qatari heritage through traditional performances and crafts.
In an exciting addition, LEGO will introduce its “Build The Thrill” Experience, allowing guests to engage in building their own mini LEGO Formula 1 cars. This activation is part of a global tour that will make its first stop in the Middle East at LIC.
Innovative Fan Experiences and Community Engagement
The Fan Zone will also include various official F1 activations, such as the F1 Sim Racing experience and the LED Pitstop Challenge. Attendees can capture memories at the F1 Driver Selfie Station and participate in the immersive “This is F1 4D” cinematic show. An array of interactive exhibits will educate visitors on the science of racing and sustainability, with installations like the F1 Genius Dome and the Green Arena.
Additionally, this year’s event introduces The Sensory Room, designed in collaboration with Qatar Foundation to provide a calming space for guests with sensory sensitivities. This initiative reflects LIC’s commitment to inclusivity, ensuring all fans can enjoy the experience.
To enhance navigation, LIC has developed a bi-lingual digital event map, which will guide fans through the venue, providing real-time updates on activities, amenities, and concert schedules. This cloud-based platform aims to improve the overall experience for attendees, facilitating a seamless journey from home to the circuit.
In alignment with the Qatar National Vision 2030, LIC continues to prioritize sustainability. Initiatives this year include recycling stations made from repurposed materials, an expanded solar-powered lighting system, and an initiative to minimize waste through a food redistribution program.
The press conference also emphasized LIC’s focus on youth engagement through the ongoing Qatar GP Educational Tour, which connects students with motorsport via STEM activities and VR experiences. Moreover, the return of the Volunteer Programme will see local volunteers actively participating in key operational areas during the event.
Citywide activations are planned throughout November, including the opening of the Qatar GP Village at Place Vendôme Mall, featuring VR simulators and interactive challenges. Iconic human-sized F1 helmet installations will also be placed at various landmarks, transforming Doha into a vibrant motorsport hub.
Ticket sales for the event are progressing rapidly, with several categories already sold out. Fans are encouraged to secure their seats for what promises to be an unforgettable weekend of racing and entertainment.
Commenting on the upcoming event, Abdulaziz Ali Al Mohannadi, CEO of Lusail International Circuit, stated, “The FORMULA 1® QATAR AIRWAYS QATAR GRAND PRIX has become a true showcase of Qatar’s innovation and hospitality. This year, we are proud to present not only a world-class race but an entire festival experience that connects technology, culture, education, sustainability, and community initiatives.”
As the countdown continues, Lusail International Circuit eagerly anticipates welcoming fans from around the globe for an extraordinary Formula 1 weekend, celebrating the excitement of motorsport and the passion that unites its enthusiasts.
