Media City Qatar Unveils ‘Nabd Qatar’ During FIFA Arab Cup Final
During the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 final held at Lusail Stadium, Media City Qatar unveiled its new song, ‘Nabd Qatar’, as the highlight of the ‘Qatar SoundBeat’ campaign. This event took place on March 15, 2025, coinciding with Qatar National Day, and was attended by national leaders, government officials, dignitaries, and thousands of football fans, creating a moment of unity and celebration across the MENA region.
The premiere of ‘Nabd Qatar’ captivated the audience with a synchronized light show that transformed Lusail Stadium into a vibrant display of sound and light. Composed by renowned musician Omar Rahbany and produced by Rahbani 3.0, one of Media City Qatar’s licensed companies, the performance showcased the talents of the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, featuring 68 musicians playing 30 different instruments.
A Musical Tribute to Qatar’s Heritage
‘Nabd Qatar’ draws on the rich tapestry of Qatari culture, incorporating elements such as the Ardha sword dance chants penned by H.E. Mr. Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali. The song evokes the sounds of the desert, the flight of falcons, and the galloping of Arabian horses, all while celebrating the nation’s deep-rooted traditions.
The composition is structured through three distinct sound eras: ‘Tradition’, ‘Classical’, and ‘Modernity’. This framework narrates a story of a nation that respects its past while embracing a creative future. The lyrics were crafted by Abdullah Khaled Abdulquddus, drawing from numerous public contributions amassed during Media City Qatar’s Guinness World Record-setting ‘Qatar ArtBeat’ campaign in 2024, further solidifying the song’s connection to national identity and unity.
Accompanying the song, an exclusive music video directed by acclaimed filmmaker Karim Rahbani was shared across Media City Qatar’s social media platforms, extending its reach to audiences both within Qatar and internationally.
Shaping the Future of Arab Creativity
Chairman of Media City Qatar, H.E. Sheikh Dr. Abdulla bin Ali Al Thani, expressed the significance of the occasion, stating, “‘Qatar SoundBeat’ turns our nation’s raw sounds into a single piece unveiled on the international stage of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 final before more than 88,000 spectators from across the Arab world. Media City Qatar used this moment to send a clear message to the region’s creative community: The future of Arab media is being shaped here.”
He emphasized the importance of innovation and growth in the creative sector, saying, “This is ‘Where Next is Made’. As we mark Qatar National Day, we continue to support Qatar National Vision 2030 by building a media industry that honors our heritage and prepares us for a creative future.”
The event not only highlighted Qatar’s cultural richness but also its ambition to emerge as a hub for creative expression in the Arab world. With the successful launch of ‘Nabd Qatar’, Media City Qatar has set a precedent for future artistic endeavors, inviting creators to explore new possibilities in a rapidly evolving media landscape.
