Qatar’s national football team will play against Bahrain tomorrow in a friendly match at Al Thumama Stadium as part of its preparations for the upcoming fourth round of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The tournament will take place across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
This match marks Qatar’s first outing during the September international break, with another friendly scheduled against Russia on September 7 at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium. These matches are crucial for the team as they aim to enhance their performance and improve their chances of qualifying for the World Cup.
Preparing for a Competitive Qualifying Stage
Head coach Julen Lopetegui has assembled a 26-player squad for the training camp and the two friendly encounters. These games are essential to assess the team’s technical readiness ahead of the decisive qualifying stage.
Qatar has been drawn into Group A, which will be hosted in Doha from October 8 to October 11. This group includes UAE and Oman, making it a crucial phase for Qatar’s qualification hopes.
The national team will kick off the fourth round of the Asian qualifiers by facing Oman on October 8, followed by a match against the UAE on October 14. The matchup between Oman and the UAE is also scheduled for October 11, adding to the competitive atmosphere.
