The FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) will commence its new season with the “Qatar 1812 KM” event at the Lusail International Circuit from March 26 to 28, 2026. This season-opener is named to honor Qatar’s National Day and promises to be a thrilling showcase of motorsport.

Tickets for the highly anticipated event are currently available for purchase, with a QR50 ticket granting access for all three days. Spectators can enjoy an exhilarating race featuring cars from two categories: Hypercar and LMGT3, in a competition that will last up to ten hours.

Event Highlights and Ticket Information

Attendees will have the opportunity to view the races from two main areas: the Main Grandstand and Lusail Hill. The Main Grandstand offers excellent sightlines of the start/finish line and pit lane, while Lusail Hill, located at Turn 1, serves as an elevated viewing area, providing a unique perspective on one of the track’s most dynamic turns.

Families can take advantage of special offers, as children under 12 can attend free of charge, with a maximum of six child tickets allowed per order. Additionally, children aged two and under may enter without a ticket. The Lusail International Circuit aims to be inclusive; wheelchair users and their companions can request one complimentary ticket alongside a full-price ticket by contacting [email protected].

As an added incentive, ticket holders for the Qatar 1812 KM will receive a 25% discount on tickets for the 2026 MotoGP Qatar Airways Grand Prix of Qatar, allowing fans to experience two of the country’s premier racing events. Tickets will be delivered digitally via the Lusail Tickets app, valid as single-day tickets.

A Look Ahead at the Championship

Entering its 14th season, WEC stands as the premier international endurance championship worldwide. The 2026 series will include eight rounds, beginning with the Prologue group test in Qatar, followed by races in Italy, Belgium, France, Brazil, the USA, Japan, and Bahrain. This lineup underscores WEC’s status as a prestigious fixture in global motorsport.

The championship’s appeal is evident, with a record number of major automotive manufacturers participating, including Ferrari, Ford, McLaren, and Mercedes. Notably, Genesis is set to join the Hypercar grid in 2026 with its new GMR-001 model, further highlighting the competitiveness of the series.

Fans can anticipate an exciting schedule leading up to the main event:

  • March 26, 2026: Free practice sessions

  • March 28, 2026: Qatar 1812 KM – 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship
