Qatar National Chess Team Competes at Abu Dhabi Festival

The Qatar national chess team is participating in the 31st Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival, which has drawn over 3,000 players from 82 countries. This prestigious event showcases a variety of competitions, providing a platform for chess enthusiasts and professionals alike.
Event Highlights and Competitions
The festival features 27 different competitions, including the Masters Tournament, Open A and B, junior events, blitz chess, and family team games. With various categories available, participants have the opportunity to compete across a wide range of skill levels.
The Qatari delegation comprises 12 players, including distinguished participants such as Grandmaster Hussein Aziz. The team also includes promising young talents like Layan Al-Qassabi and Roza Al-Qassabi, who are competing in the Masters, Open A, Open B, Under-16, and Blitz Chess events.
Impressive Performances from Qatari Players
Daily matches are underway, and the Qatari players are demonstrating remarkable skill and determination. Notably, Grandmaster Hussein Aziz has been performing exceptionally well, contributing to the team’s competitive edge. Ghadah Al-Khulaifi has also showcased her abilities in the Open A category, impressing spectators with her strategic gameplay.
In the junior section, Hamad Al-Kuwari has garnered attention for his insightful moves, surprising many with his tactical prowess. As the festival progresses, the players are focused on maximizing their potential and gaining valuable experience.
