Qatar U23 3×3 Basketball Team Launches World Cup Challenge in China

The Qatar U23 3×3 basketball team has officially commenced its campaign at the FIBA 3×3 U23 World Cup in Xiongan, China, which began on September 19, 2025. The tournament features top young talents from around the globe, and Qatar’s team is poised to showcase its skills against some of the strongest competitors.
Team Composition and Leadership
Under the guidance of Saadoun Sabah Al Kuwari, General Secretary of the Qatar Basketball Federation and Director of National Teams, the squad consists of four promising players: Mohammed Basheer, Mahmoud Darwish, Mubarak Jama, and Mustafa Ndao. Their diverse skill sets and previous achievements provide a solid foundation for the team’s efforts in the tournament.
Competing in Group D, Qatar faces a series of challenging matches. Today, they will play against the United States and China, followed by encounters with Latvia and Fiji on September 20, 2025. The group stage format allows the top two teams from each group to advance to the quarterfinals, raising the stakes for every game.
