Qatar Unveils Air Sports Museum During World Military Championship
Doha, Qatar, witnessed the inauguration of the Air Sports Museum, a significant milestone in the nation’s efforts to host premier international sporting events. The opening took place on the sidelines of the 47th World Military Parachuting Championship (CISM 2025), with key figures including Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs, and Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC), in attendance.
The establishment of the Air Sports Museum not only showcases the rich history and achievements of air sports in the region but also highlights Qatar’s commitment to promoting sports culture and heritage. This initiative aligns with the country’s vision of becoming a global hub for sporting excellence.
Guinness World Records Acknowledges Qatar’s Achievement
During the inauguration ceremony, Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Thani received a Guinness World Records certificate recognizing Qatar’s remarkable achievement in organizing the largest military parachute air display. This event featured numerous international teams and adhered to strict international standards, showcasing Qatar’s capability in hosting large-scale events.
Emma Brain, a representative from Guinness World Records, presented the certificate following the championship’s opening. She commended Qatar for its professionalism and exceptional organizational skills, emphasizing that the record reflects the nation’s dedication to excellence in sports.
The recognition by Guinness World Records further cements Qatar’s status as a prominent player in the international sports arena.
