Qatar’s Lusail Prepares for Thrilling MotoGP Action in 2026

DOHA: The 2026 FIM MotoGP World Championship calendar was officially announced on July 24, featuring a 22-round season that will take place across five continents. Qatar’s Lusail International Circuit will host the fourth round of the championship from April 10-12, 2026, marking another significant event in the Middle East’s motorsport landscape.
This season represents the 78th edition of the premier motorcycle racing championship, which will kick off at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand. The season finale will occur at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain. A standout feature of the new calendar is the much-anticipated return of the Brazilian Grand Prix, taking place at Goiania and heralded as a milestone for motorsport in South America.
Lusail’s Enduring Legacy
Since its debut in 2004, Lusail International Circuit has established itself as a crucial venue in the MotoGP calendar. The MotoGP Qatar Airways Grand Prix of Qatar 2026 will mark the circuit’s 22nd year as a host, renowned for being the only full night race of the season. Its iconic lighting creates a captivating atmosphere for both competitors and spectators.
The upcoming event will align with the championship’s current format, featuring a Sprint Race on Saturday. This addition will provide an extra layer of excitement and offer critical points to the riders’ standings, enhancing the competitive spirit of the weekend.
Lusail International Circuit plays a vital role in solidifying Qatar’s reputation as a leader in international motorsport. The previous edition of the race in 2025 saw Marc Marquez claim victory for the Ducati Lenovo Team, with his teammates Francesco Bagnaia and Franco Morbidelli finishing in second and third places, respectively for the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team.
Looking Ahead to 2026
As excitement builds for the 2026 event, Lusail anticipates welcoming riders, teams, and fans from all corners of the globe. The upcoming Grand Prix promises to be another unforgettable chapter in the history of MotoGP.
Details regarding ticket sales, hospitality packages, and fan experiences will be announced in the coming months. For official updates and more information, interested individuals can visit lcsc.qa or follow Lusail Circuit on social media platforms.
