Qatar’s U-21 Teams Kick Off 3×3 Basketball Campaign in Hungary

Qatar’s under-21 men’s and women’s 3×3 basketball teams have officially commenced their campaigns in the fourth leg of the U-21 European Nations League for Youth. The tournament is taking place in Debrecen, Hungary, starting today, and features national teams from various countries, including France, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Hungary, Romania, and Qatar.

Men’s and Women’s Teams Set to Compete

The Qatari delegation is led by Captain Yassin Ismail, who serves as the Director of National 3×3 Basketball Teams, with support from Coach Marco. The men’s team will compete in Group 2 alongside Romania and the Czech Republic, beginning with a match against Romania today, followed by a clash against the Czech Republic later in the day.

The men’s squad includes players such as Mohamed Hashem, Sultan Abu Issa, Bassam Hajar, and Issa Al-Attar. Meanwhile, the women’s team has also drawn Group 2, facing Ukraine and France in their opening matches today. The lineup for the women’s team features Sarah Al-Maadheed, Dima Al-Jassim, Dana Suleiman, and Fatima Jamal Abdullah.

Current Standings and Team Performance

In the current tournament standings, Qatar’s men’s team ranks second with 648.881 points, trailing behind France, which leads with 1,002.620 points. The Czech Republic is in third place with 536.950 points, followed closely by Ukraine in fourth with 510.606 points, Hungary in fifth with 427.345 points, and Romania in sixth with 408.897 points.

The men’s team has demonstrated steady improvement throughout the previous three legs of the league, finishing sixth in the opener, fifth in the second leg, and securing a commendable second-place finish in the third leg, earning 175 points along the way.

The women’s team enters this leg ranked sixth, with 95.794 points. The Czech Republic currently leads the women’s rankings with 343.467 points, followed by Ukraine in second place with 332.157 points, and France in third with 316.872 points. Qatar’s women have accumulated a total of 45 points from their participation in the earlier legs of the tournament.
