Qatar’s Youth Athletics Team Gears Up for Arab U-18 Championships

Qatar’s national youth athletics team is preparing to compete in the 11th Arab U-18 Athletics Championships from August 23 to 27, 2025, in Tunis, Tunisia. The championship will see participation from numerous countries across the Arab world, showcasing the region’s emerging athletic talent.
The Qatari delegation will be led by Mohammed Issa Al Fadala, President of the Qatar Athletics Federation. The team is scheduled to depart for Tunisia tomorrow, bringing with it aspirations of achieving commendable results that reflect the ambitions and ongoing development of athletics in Qatar.
Strong Representation in Key Events
The squad consists of ten promising athletes, each prepared to compete in various track and field events. Notable participants include Idris Abkar and Hussein Mohammed, who will compete in the 110-meter hurdles, as well as Mubarak Saeed in the 1500 meters.
Other key athletes include Samer Hussein, who will tackle the 400 meters, and Timo Jumaa, who will participate in the 100 meters and 200 meters hurdles. Additionally, Saleh Mahmoud will compete in both the shot put and discus throw, while Younes Al Baloushi and Abdullah Al Abdullah will take to the field for the pole vault.
Aiming for Success
The athletes and coaching staff are optimistic about their chances, with the team focusing on demonstrating the skills and determination developed through their training. As they prepare to face competitors from across the Arab region, the Qatari delegation hopes to achieve results that underscore the nation’s commitment to nurturing young athletic talent.
