Santiago Lambre Triumphs in Diamond Class at Qatar Equestrian Tour

The fourth round of the Longines Hathab – Qatar Equestrian Tour concluded on March 15, 2024, showcasing remarkable talent in the Diamond, Silver, and Future Riders categories at the Qatar Equestrian Federation’s outdoor arena. The event highlighted the skill and determination of riders from various backgrounds, culminating in thrilling performances that captivated the audience.

Santiago Lambre Claims Victory in Diamond Class

In a standout performance, Santiago Lambre from Brazil clinched the top spot in the Diamond class. He completed the course aboard Db Gi Citsun in an impressive time of 35.71 seconds, effectively outpacing a competitive field. His swift and precise riding demonstrated not only his skill but also the potential for further successes in upcoming competitions.

Mohammed Saeed Haidan secured second place, finishing the round in 40.61 seconds on his horse Quick Nick. Meanwhile, Khaled Mohammed Al Emadi took home third with a time of 42.4 seconds riding Thor Ter Wilgen Z.

Intense Rivalry in Silver Round

The Silver Round also delivered exciting action, with Hussain Saeed Haidan emerging victorious after a clean round in 53.56 seconds aboard Fayahibi. His performance highlighted the level of competition present in this category. Khaled Al Hadi followed closely in second place, finishing in 56.33 seconds on Cartelon, while Rondoux Jean Francois rounded out the top three with 56.34 seconds aboard Lucky Wally, just a fraction behind.

In the Future Riders Round, designed for young equestrians competing at a height of 90cm, promising talents showcased their abilities. Sultan Jassim Al Suwaidi demonstrated exceptional skill, finishing first with a time of 16.26 seconds on Violet Van Het Koetshuis. He was closely followed by Khalifa bin Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, who completed his round in 16.32 seconds on Zion II Vdk. Al Qaqaa bin Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani secured third place with a time of 18.03 seconds on Bon Suela.

The Tournament Director, Abdullah Al Marri, praised the high level of competition throughout the first four rounds of the Longines Hathab Championship. He emphasized that the technical quality and consistency in both show jumping and dressage reflect the riders’ strong preparation for international competitions. Al Marri remarked that the progress observed this season signals a positive trajectory for Qatari equestrian sport, as local riders continue to demonstrate their readiness to represent the country on both regional and global stages.
