Saud Al Marri Wins Third Round of Freestyle Drifting Championship in Doha
Doha, Qatar: The third round of the 2025-2026 Freestyle Drifting Championship concluded with excitement as Saud Al Marri emerged victorious, earning his first title of the season. The event, organized by the Qatar Racing Club, attracted a record audience over three days, showcasing thrilling performances from top drivers.
Championship Results
After three hours of intense competition, Al Marri secured the highest points for this round, overcoming strong contenders. Rashid Al Banna claimed his first podium finish of the season, finishing in second place, while Abdullah Al Qahtani, the champion of the previous two rounds, took third. Ahmed Al Musaned, who had finished third in earlier rounds, placed fourth, with Ahmed Al Banna rounding out the top five.
The event kicked off with rigorous registration and technical scrutineering to ensure all vehicles met the championship’s safety and technical standards. Essential checks included the installation of a roll cage, secure battery mounting, effective seat belts, and proper driver safety equipment such as racing suits and helmets.
Competition Format and Highlights
Each driver had one run on the track, where they performed a series of specific maneuvers, including drifting, reverse maneuvers, figure-eight knots, and reverse spins, all within a four-minute time limit. An additional style score was awarded based on the overall execution of the run, adding to the excitement of the competition.
As the top three finishers were announced in front of a large and enthusiastic crowd, the atmosphere was electric, marking the successful conclusion of the third round. The championship will take a break before resuming for the final round at the end of April 2026, promising more thrilling action for drifting enthusiasts.
