Thai Princess Bajrakitiyabha Faces Serious Blood Infection
The health of Princess Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol, the eldest daughter of the Thai King, has taken a serious turn as she battles a severe blood infection. The palace announced this alarming update on September 29, 2023, after more than two years of her being hospitalized due to a heart condition.
The princess fell ill during a military dog training session in Nakhon Ratchasima, located north of the capital, Bangkok, back in December 2022. Since that incident, she has been unconscious and reliant on medical support.
In a statement released by the Bureau of the Royal Household, it was reported that the princess’s lungs and kidneys are functioning with assistance from medical devices and medication. The statement marks the first update on her condition in over two years, reflecting the ongoing concern for her health among the public and royal family.
On August 9, 2025, medical professionals detected a severe infection in her bloodstream. In response, they administered antibiotics and medication to stabilize her blood pressure. The announcement underscores the seriousness of her condition, as doctors work diligently to manage her health challenges.
The royal family has maintained a commitment to transparency regarding the princess’s health, and this latest update has drawn attention both locally and internationally. Supporters and citizens alike continue to express their well-wishes as the situation unfolds.
The ongoing medical battle of Princess Bajrakitiyabha serves as a poignant reminder of the fragility of life, even for those in royal positions. As medical teams remain vigilant, the hope for a positive outcome persists among her family and the people of Thailand.
