The Chedi Katara Hotel & Resort in Doha, Qatar, has appointed two prominent culinary leaders to enhance its dining experience. Philippe Bossert takes on the role of Executive Chef, while Kimberly Pummer joins as Pastry Chef. Philippe Bossert: A Culinary Visionary
Chef Bossert, a Maitre Cuisinier de France, brings a wealth of experience to his new position. His passion for cooking was inspired by his father and has been shaped by years of dedication to quality ingredients and authentic flavors. His culinary journey began at the age of 16, with an internship at the renowned Auberge de l’Ill. There, he worked under the acclaimed Haeberlin brothers, paving the way for a remarkable career.
Throughout his extensive career, Chef Bossert has collaborated with culinary legends such as Alain Ducasse, Emile Jung, and Yannick Alléno. His work has taken him around the globe, spanning locations from France and Russia to Africa and the Maldives. Noteworthy is his experience cooking for notable figures, including Boris Becker and President Vladimir Putin.
At The Chedi Katara, Chef Bossert aims to blend his Alsatian roots with local flavors, creating exceptional cuisine that resonates with diverse palates. He seeks to lead the resort’s kitchens in delivering a dining experience that reflects both regional character and global sophistication.
Kimberly Pummer: Excellence in Pastry Arts
Joining Chef Bossert is Kimberly Pummer, an accomplished Pastry Chef known for her precision and creativity. Pummer’s culinary journey began with an apprenticeship at Kaefer Berlin, where she honed her skills in chocolate artistry and dessert presentation. Her experience includes serving the German Parliament, showcasing her ability to create exquisite plated desserts and grand buffets.
Most recently, Pummer held leadership roles at Fauchon Paris Restaurant at The St. Regis Doha and Orania.Berlin under Chef Philipp Vogel. Her career demonstrates not only technical brilliance but also a talent for guiding teams in high-pressure environments. With her arrival at The Chedi Katara, guests can anticipate innovative and visually captivating desserts that elevate the resort’s culinary offerings.
