European Poultry Showcases Quality at WOFEX 2025 in Manila

The European poultry sector is set to make a significant impact at the World Food Expo (WOFEX) 2025, taking place from August 6 to 9 in Manila, Philippines. This prominent food industry event attracts tens of thousands of visitors, ranging from food professionals to individual consumers. As part of the initiative titled “European Poultry – From Our Farms to Your Table,” co-financed by the European Union, a press event on August 7 will convene media representatives, industry experts, and key stakeholders to discuss the campaign’s goals and its appeal to the Filipino market.

The campaign seeks to address the rising consumer expectations for transparency in the food supply chain. The EU emphasizes that European poultry is not only about taste and nutritional value but also embodies high standards of quality, sustainability, and modern technology. Over the course of three years, the initiative aims to enhance awareness of the responsible practices that underpin EU food production.

The European poultry sector distinguishes itself globally through a variety of innovative practices. These include a commitment to circular economy principles, which has led to a 50% reduction in the consumption of natural resources compared to previous decades. Investments in automation and smart energy solutions highlight a focus on animal welfare and support for local communities. Additionally, there is a comprehensive effort to minimize food waste throughout the supply and distribution chain.

The EU’s participation, including that of Poland, at WOFEX 2025 is a strategic effort to position European poultry as a high-quality, safe, and ethical product in the Filipino market. The campaign is designed to engage both importers and distributors, as well as consumers who are increasingly discerning about the origin and quality of their food.

The potential for European poultry in the Philippines is substantial. With a rapidly growing middle class and an increasing demand for certified, high-quality protein, European producers are well-positioned for long-term success. The project is being implemented by the National Poultry Council – Chamber of Commerce in Poland, acting on behalf of the European poultry sector.
