Prime Minister Modi Commemorates Guru Tegh Bahadur with Special Coin and Stamp
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil a special commemorative coin and postage stamp today in Haryana, honouring the legacy of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. This event marks the 350th anniversary of the Guru’s martyrdom and is set to take place during a series of cultural and spiritual observances in Jyotisar, a significant site in the holy land of Kurukshetra.
During the ceremony, which is reported by Akashvani News, Mr Modi will also inaugurate the newly constructed Panchjanya Memorial, dedicated to the sacred conch of Lord Krishna. The event will feature the presence of notable dignitaries, including Haryana Governor Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
In addition to the unveiling of the commemorative items, the Prime Minister plans to visit the Mahabharata Anubhav Kendra in Jyotisar. His itinerary includes offering prayers at the revered Brahma Sarovar, further underscoring the spiritual significance of his visit.
This celebration not only honours the memory of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji but also reflects India’s commitment to preserving its cultural heritage. Through the release of the coin and stamp, the government aims to foster greater awareness and appreciation of the teachings and sacrifices of the revered Sikh Guru.
The events in Haryana today are expected to draw significant attention, highlighting the intersection of spirituality and national pride. Mr Modi’s participation serves as a reminder of the enduring impact of religious figures in shaping the cultural landscape of India.
