Family Defends Palash Muchhal Amid Wedding Rumours and Health Crisis
Speculation surrounding the postponed wedding of cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal has escalated in recent days, prompting a family member to defend Muchhal amid allegations of infidelity. The couple had been scheduled to marry on November 23, 2023, but they halted their celebrations due to health concerns involving Mandhana’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana.
Following the announcement of the wedding delay, unverified claims surfaced online, suggesting that Muchhal had cheated on Mandhana. The situation intensified when an Instagram user, Mary D’Costa, reportedly shared screenshots of private conversations with Muchhal. These images, which circulated on Reddit, continued to gain traction even after D’Costa’s account was deactivated, further fueling speculation about the couple’s relationship.
Family Support Amidst Rumours
In response to the swirling rumors, Muchhal’s cousin, Neeti Tak, took to her Instagram Stories to defend him. She urged the public not to rush to judgment based on unverified information. “Palash is going through a critical condition today; you all should not judge Palash as wrong without knowing the truth,” she stated. Tak emphasized the need for compassion, noting, “Technology today has come much ahead of humans, that is why people should not judge Palash in the face of rumours… pray for him.”
According to a report by Hindustan Times, Muchhal has been hospitalized in Mumbai. His sister, Palak Muchhal, also confirmed the postponement of the wedding through an Instagram post, requesting privacy for both families. She stated, “Due to Smriti’s father’s health, Smriti and Palash’s wedding has been put on hold. We would request all of you to respect the privacy of the families during this sensitive time.”
Health Concerns and Relationship Background
The wedding’s delay stems from Shrinivas Mandhana being rushed to Sarvhit Hospital and Medical Research Centre in Sangli after exhibiting heart attack-like symptoms on the day the couple was set to marry. Just a day after her father’s hospitalization, Palash was also admitted to a hospital in Sangli.
Palash’s mother, Amita Muchhal, revealed that the stress from the ongoing situation significantly affected his health. She recounted, “Since haldi was done, we didn’t let him go outside. Rote rote ek dum tabiyat karab ho gai. 4 ghante hospital mein rakhna padha… Sab normal aaye but stress bahut hai.” She added that Palash shares a close bond with Smriti’s father and insisted on pausing the wedding rituals until his condition improved.
In light of these events, fans have observed that Smriti has removed all wedding-related posts from her Instagram account, contributing to the ongoing speculation about their relationship.
Though Muchhal and Mandhana began dating in 2019, they kept their relationship largely private until July 2024, when they publicly celebrated their fifth anniversary. Now, as the couple navigates health emergencies and rampant online gossip, both families continue to emphasize the importance of privacy during this challenging time.
