Air New Zealand Expands Koru Lounge at Auckland Airport

Air New Zealand is set to significantly expand its Koru Lounge at Auckland Airport, nearly doubling the space to enhance visitor experience. This expansion aims to accommodate growing passenger numbers and improve amenities, with plans to unveil the revamped lounge in September 2024.
The current Koru Lounge spans approximately 1,800 square meters, but the new design will increase the area to around 3,500 square meters. The additional space will feature a dedicated exclusive area for premium passengers, ensuring more comfort and privacy for those traveling in higher classes.
In a statement, Air New Zealand Chief Customer Officer Leanne Geraghty emphasized that the renovation reflects the airline’s commitment to providing top-notch services. “We want our lounges to be an extension of our customers’ travel experience, offering a place to relax and recharge before their flight,” she said.
The design will incorporate modern aesthetics, with natural light and a focus on New Zealand’s unique culture. Passengers can expect enhanced dining options, with a broader selection of local and international cuisine, complemented by an upgraded beverage menu featuring regional wines and spirits.
Additionally, the lounge will include more seating areas, charging stations, and quieter zones for business travelers. These enhancements are not only aimed at improving comfort but also at creating a vibrant atmosphere that reflects the spirit of New Zealand.
As travel demand continues to increase post-pandemic, Air New Zealand is taking proactive steps to accommodate its passengers. According to the airline, the expansion is part of a larger strategy to enhance customer experience across its network, particularly in key hubs like Auckland.
Construction is set to begin soon, and the airline has assured travelers that disruptions will be minimal during the renovation phase. Air New Zealand has a long-standing reputation for customer service, and this initiative underscores its intention to maintain that standard while adapting to evolving traveler needs.
With the Koru Lounge expansion, Air New Zealand aims to solidify its position as a leader in the airline industry, ensuring that every aspect of the travel experience is not only comfortable but also memorable. As the launch date approaches, passengers can look forward to a modernized space that elevates the overall journey through Auckland Airport.
