Mitre 10 Cuts Losses and Boosts Revenue with New Stores

Mitre 10 has announced a significant turnaround in its financial performance, cutting losses by $71 million and increasing revenue by 12%. The home improvement retailer’s chief executive, Andrea Scown, attributed this progress to the company’s ongoing transformation, which includes the opening of five new stores despite challenging economic conditions.

While Mitre 10 still reported an after-tax loss of $27.1 million for the year ending June 30, 2024, this figure marks a substantial improvement over the previous year’s loss of $98.9 million. Total revenue rose to $300.3 million, up from $267 million in 2023, showcasing the company’s recovery efforts.

Scown highlighted that the improved financial results stem from significant investments in systems and capabilities, alongside disciplined execution and strong cost management.
