Renee Renata Steps Up as Hōkai Tahi’s New Service Manager

Renee Renata has been appointed as the new service manager at Hōkai Tahi, following the departure of current manager Rebecca Vergunst, who is embarking on a year of travel with her family. Renata’s appointment marks a significant transition for the organization, known for its commitment to community service in New Zealand.
Background and Transition
Renata, who has been involved with Hōkai Tahi in various capacities, expressed that this role is “deeply personal” to her. She has a strong connection to the organization’s mission, which focuses on supporting and uplifting local communities. Vergunst’s decision to travel was motivated by a desire to spend quality time with her family, allowing her to step back from her managerial duties temporarily.
“It has been a privilege to lead Hōkai Tahi,” said Vergunst. “I am excited to see how Renee will bring her unique vision and energy to this role.” Her leadership during her tenure has seen significant developments and growth within the organization, which operates various programs aimed at community enhancement.
A Vision for the Future
Taking over the reins, Renata plans to build on the strong foundation laid by her predecessor. “My focus will be on expanding our outreach and ensuring that we remain responsive to the needs of the community,” she stated. Her priorities include enhancing existing programs and initiating new projects that align with the organization’s core values.
Renata’s background in community service and her familiarity with Hōkai Tahi’s objectives position her well to make an immediate impact. She aims to foster a collaborative environment within the team, encouraging input from staff and community members alike to drive positive change.
As she prepares for this new chapter, Renata acknowledges the challenges ahead but remains optimistic about the potential for growth and improvement. “I believe in the power of community and the change we can create together,” she added.
Hōkai Tahi continues to play a vital role in supporting local needs, and with Renata at the helm, stakeholders are optimistic about the future direction of the organization. Renata is committed to ensuring that the legacy of service and support continues during this transition period.
